WERE YOU JUST AND UNPRECEDENTED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT,
IF YOU
OBEYED THE LAW AND COULD YOU?
Today's chapter is. Luke
1
Luke 1-6 "They were both righteous before God,
walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the
Lord."
This was about the priest Zechariah and
Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist. Paul claims the
same:
PHIL. 3-6 " UNPRECEDENTED BY THE LAW OF
RIGHTEOUSNESS." Paul contradicts himself: GAL. 3-11 " AND
THAT NO ONE IS JUSTIFIED BEFORE GOD BY THE LAW, IT IS EVIDENT, FOR IT
IS SAID: " THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.
The
person who takes a random scripture out of context gets lost and
arrives at a wrong understanding of the Bible's message and ends up
in false doctrine.
IT IS ABOUT DISTRIBUTING THE WORD OF
GOD RIGHTLY.
But you can't do that if you lack insight into the
Word. BUT HOW SHOULD YOU UNDERSTAND THIS?
The “LAW”
has a double meaning in the scriptures. For an Israelite it meant
first and foremost the Ten Commandments. And secondly it meant the
requirements of the five books of Moses and especially all the
commandments and regulations that God gave Moses in connection with
the sacrificial service in the Tabernacle. Here it says again and
again: HE WHO SINS AGAINST THESE COMMANDMENTS SHALL BRING AN OFFERING
We can read about this in Leviticus 4, so read it. Here it is proven
that one could not comply with the commandments and requirements of
the law and therefore had to bring a sin offering to the
Temple/Tabernacle.
In order to be justified according to
all the requirements and prohibitions of the law. When an Israelite
complied with these regulations of the law, he was, according to the
Old Testament, righteous before God. ONE WAS JUSTIFIED BY GRACE BY
THE BLOOD OF THE SACRIFICE AND NOT BY THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW!
ROM.8-7 “THE CARNATION OF THE FLESH IS ENEMIES AGAINST GOD, FOR IT
DOES NOT BEND UNDER GOD’S LAW, AND IT CANNOT DO THAT.” Neither in
the Old nor the New Testament. THERE MUST BE ANOTHER
SACRIFICE!
HEB.9-28 “THUS CHRIST, AFTER BEING OFFERED
ONCE TO BEAR THE SINS OF MANY, SHALL ALSO APPEAR THE SECOND TIME, NOT
TO BEAR SINS, BUT TO SALVATION TO THOSE WHO ARE WAITING FOR
HIM.”
Thank you Jesus for paying the price for our
transgressions and atoning for our sin. And thank you Jesus for
coming again to take us up to Heaven, those who are waiting for
you.
Amen.
