THERE ARE CARRIES IN THE TEETH OF TIME
John 15 is today's
chapter.
Read the section the verse refers to.
We
say the tine of time, the time we live in is different than before.
What is different? The form+ Paul says we who believe in Jesus should
not let ourselves be shaped by this world. Have not many Christians
taken parts of the world into their lifestyle? Cold lukewarm love,
lack of care for other believers etc.
God and the Lord
Jesus have never changed their minds. God created us in his image,
unfortunately humans have never really accepted it, they try to
create something else and they call it freedom. Jesus has set us free
from the world's flow and influences, We are set in the Heavenly not
in the earthly, many are bound by the things of the earth they do not
want to let go but let themselves be shaped by the lifestyles of the
spirit of this world. What about you?
Isn't this about
something we all know? How life is often experienced? It is a fact
that trees – if you want them to bear fruit – must be pruned
every now and then. We are like a tree, we are pruned and bear the
fruit of God's Spirit. John 15
It is also a fact that we
all get older and older; often many of us experience that money is
not always enough, and that in the end it has to end up with a tooth
completely pulled out. But God's people never lack anything. Jesus is
always the one who shows us the way, even when money may be small. We
should not put our hope in this world's wealth, dear
friends.
REPETITION
And even though this is the case,
we still often have an expectation that tomorrow will be a repeat of
today. In my case, it could sound something like this: Breakfast.
Sending the children to school. Work. Picking up the children.
Shopping. Cooking. Sitting in front of the cash register. Calling mom
(if she is lucky). It just doesn't quite fit NO ONE KNOWS EXACTLY
WHAT TOMORROW WILL BRING. Every day is a new unknown. But known by
God.
But life isn't always like that.
Suddenly the
power can go out - and therefore the internet, and the children
panic. Then the car may no longer start and help make a big hole in
the piggy bank. Then suddenly there is a gigantic cloudburst, which
forces sewage water up into all the city's basements - and those
aren't even the worst examples.
Why do believers today
panic over very ordinary things, don't they believe that Jesus has
everything under control today?
EVERYTHING IS GIVEN AS A
GIFT, AND NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FOR SURE.« LIFE IS A GIFT.
Amen
