Hebrews 4 – v15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in all respects like as we are, yet without sin. v16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
We are all tempted in one way or another. The point is that we do not rely on our own willpower or character, but rely solely on the help we receive from the grace of Him who was tempted in all things, namely Christ. Only then can we overcome temptations.
MINISTRY
2 Corinthians 15 – v10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; I have labored more than any of them, that is, not I, BUT THE GRACE OF GOD WHICH WAS WITH ME. V11 But whether it was I or the others: so we preach, and so you believed.
The reason why Paul worked more and harder than the others was not due to his self-discipline and firm character, but the love of Christ (the reason for grace) was the driving force in his life. Because he had received so much grace, it was natural that it would drive him to do his utmost for Jesus, who had loved him so much.
THE END OF LIFE – JESUS COMING
1.Peter 1, v13
Therefore be vigilant, prepare your minds, gird up your loins, and SET YOUR HOPE ON THE GRACE THAT IS GIVEN TO YOU WHEN JESUS CHRIST IS REVEALED
When everything is to be settled at the end of life, it is important not to build on what we have done and accomplished, but to count on what Jesus did on the cross. For who has done enough? How much does it take for one to be satisfied with one’s efforts? And will God be satisfied with us?
But God is satisfied with what Jesus has done. If you are also satisfied with that, God is satisfied with you. Rest in the assurance that it is only by virtue of Jesus’ blood on the cross that the pearly gate will one day stand open for you and me.
…they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb (Rev. 7,14).
Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city (Rev. 22:14).
