WILL WE LIVE AND CONFESS GOD’S WORD OF FAITH
DESPITE OUR
CIRCUMSTANCES?
Or has unbelief taken over in our
lives?
God has given us promises in our Bible for both
temporal things and for the healing of our bodies. These promises are
God’s hand that is extended to help us in all circumstances. All
God requires of us is:
ACCEPT IN FAITH WITHOUT
DOUBTING.
What are we to receive? THE PROMISES OF GOD’S WORD!
JOHN.15-7 “IF YOU REMAIN IN ME, AND MY WORDS REMAIN IN YOU, ASK
WHATEVER YOU WANT, AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU.” Only unbelief can
prevent this scripture from being fulfilled in our lives. Unbelief
says that this scripture must be interpreted in a different way.
Jesus did not mean it literally, but it should be understood
"spiritually." The unbeliever says: You must keep your
common sense. Keep both feet on the ground!
YOU CAN'T WALK
ON WATER, ONLY JESUS COULD DO THAT.
That's not
right, Peter could also IN FAITH! Yes, but he also sank says the
unbeliever.
No, that's wrong, he walked on the water IN FAITH
together with Jesus into the boat and they both got on board. JOH.14
-12 "VERILY, TRULY I SAY TO YOU, HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME, HE WILL
ALSO DO THE WORKS THAT I DO, AND GREATER WORKS THAN THAT, BECAUSE I
GO TO THE FATHER."
Greater works?? No, you must stop
now says the unbeliever. Here really needs interpretation. But faith
says: MARK.9-23 “ BUT JESUS SAID TO HIM: IF YOU CAN! ALL
THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO HIM WHO BELIEVES.” The word all, covers
everything! There is no room for unbelief here. ONLY FAITH CAN ACCEPT
THIS.
Unbelief in the word of God must be confessed as
sin.
Faith must be received from the Holy Spirit. HE MUST ALSO
DO THE WORKS I DO! Jesus said this to the disciples, but they were
not to do the works in their own power. I AM GOING TO THE FATHER,
SAID JESUS. OH.14 16-17 “ AND I WILL ASK THE FATHER, AND HE WILL
GIVE YOU ANOTHER COMFORTER, THAT HE MAY BE WITH YOU FOREVER, THE
SPIRIT OF TRUTH, WHICH THE WORLD CANNOT RECEIVE, BECAUSE IT DOES NOT
SEE HIM OR KNOW HIM; BUT YOU KNOW HIM, FOR HE DWELLS WITH YOU AND
WILL BE IN YOU.”
MAT. 12-28 “ BUT IF I CAST OUT DEVILS BY
THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS COME UPON YOU.”
Here
we see how Jesus ministered in the power of God, namely the power of
the Holy Spirit.
MAT.12-15 “ WHEN JESUS KNEW IT, HE
DEPARTED THERE, AND MANY FOLLOWED HIM, AND HE HEALED THEM ALL. Jesus
healed by the power of the Spirit.
When Jesus says you shall do
greater works than I do, he refers to the Holy Spirit, whom he will
pour out upon his church. Unbelief is happy at the word: WILL POUR
OUT UPON HIS CHURCH. But faith says: HAS POURED OUT UPON HIS CHURCH.
It happened on the day of Pentecost. Have you, dear reader, received
this power in your life? It is by this POWER that you shall do
greater works in faith than Jesus did.
THUS WE MUST
RECEIVE THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT = THE POWER OF GOD, SO THAT WE
CAN DO THE WORKS OF GOD! This applies to all born-again Christians.
Imagine if all born-again Christians were clothed with the power of
the Holy Spirit, so that they could do greater works than Jesus. Then
the church would look different and not be so filled with "reasonable
unbelief"! But that was what Jesus meant by pouring out the Holy
Spirit.
Then there would not be so many "faithful
Christians" in the church, but far more who by the power of the
Spirit TRUST in faith in God's promises. And by the Spirit did the
works of God.
Now I hear through some of my readers say:
YES, BUT DO YOU DO IT YOURSELF? No, I don't! Because if you look at
me, you don't see it. And if you look for the power in others, you
don't see it. BUT IF YOU LOOK FOR THE WORKS OF THE SPIRIT, YOU WILL
SEE IT. But unfortunately many look for the human and cannot
distinguish the human from the spiritual.
JESUS WALKED
AMONG THEM, BUT THEY DID NOT SEE HIM.
In the same way, the
men of God walk in the midst of the church and are witnessed by the
Spirit, but they do not see them. THEY DO NOT SEE THE FINGERS OF GOD.
They only see the human. THEY SEE NOT IN THEIR UNBELIEF THE
PRE-PREPARED WORKS. They shut down the free movement of God's Spirit.
JOH.3-8 ” THE WIND BLOWS WHERE IT WILLS, AND YOU HEAR THE SOUND OF
IT, BUT YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE IT COMES FROM AND WHERE IT GOES,
THAT
IS WITH EVERYONE WHO IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT.” So it is with everyone
who is born of the Spirit, unless you yourself are filled with the
Spirit, you cannot judge the Spirit in your brother.
YOU
CANNOT SEE THE WORKS OF THE SPIRIT IN AND THROUGH HIM.
In your
unbelief you can easily become an enemy of the Spirit of God. EPH.5
17-18 ” THEREFORE BE NOT FOOLISH, BUT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE WILL OF
THE LORD IS. And do not get drunk with wine, for that leads to
debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.” ACTS 2 2-4 “Then
there came a sound from heaven like a mighty rushing wind, and it
filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to
them tongues like fire, which parted and sat on each of them. And
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with
other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
Then
Peter spoke and preached:
ACTS 2-22 “Men of Israel, hear these
words: JESUS OF NAZARETH, A MAN WHO“A man who was lame from
birth was carried in. He was called “the one who was lame from
birth.” He was “the one who was lame from birth.” He was called
Then Peter looked intently at him, and so did John, and Peter said,
“Look at us!” And he looked intently at them, expecting to
receive something from them.
But Peter said, “Silver and gold
I have none, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus
Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” And he took him by the right
hand and lifted him up. And immediately his legs and ankles became
strong, and he leaped up and stood upright and began to walk around,
and he followed them into the temple, walking around and leaping and
praising God.”
Peter referred to Jesus' signs and
wonders in his sermon, but he also went out after being baptized with
the Holy Spirit and did the same works as Jesus.
THIS IS
WHAT WE CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO AFTER WE HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED WITH THE
HOLY SPIRIT.
We not only have faith in God's promises for
our own situation, when it comes to our temporal things and our own
bodies, but also for the situation of others around us.
LET
US NOT BE UNBELIEVERS, BUT BELIEVERS!
Amen
